Searches of suspected terrorists in Astrakhan reveal FSB chevrons

As reported by a law enforcement source of the Astrakhan Region, the suspects detained by special agents of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) and MIA (Ministry of Internal Affairs) at night on May 7 in Astrakhan had planned terror acts under the guise of security forces, which is evidenced by the things found on them. Meanwhile, so far, there are no officially confirmed evidences that the detainees had intended to commit terror acts in Astrakhan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that on May 7 four suspected militants were detained in Astrakhan. Another one was killed during detention. Power agents believe that these people had planned to commit a terror act in Astrakhan on the Victory Day.

The source said that in recent days, in the course of searches in connection with the above detentions, power agents found camouflage uniforms, handcuffs, face masks with slits for eyes, insignia of law enforcement bodies, such as chevrons with the inscription "FSB" and other similar items.

According to his story, the sets of uniform could even be used for open-demonstrative attacks on civilians under the guise of federal security forces with the aim to discredit state authorities.

"Based on the collected operative data, it is assumed that after attacks and assaults on law enforcers the detainees planned to go to the mountains and enter the zone of subversive activities of bandit gangs against federal forces," said the source as quoted by RIA "Novosti".
