Kaloy Akhilgov: Ilez Gorchkhanov kidnapped and killed in Ingushetia was tortured

The body of Ilez Gorchkhanov, a local resident, who was kidnapped in Nazran, was identified by his relatives. As stated by power agents, the body had no external signs of violent death; however, according to his relative, the body was disfigured by torture.

Let us remind you that Ilez Gorchkhanov, born in 1984, was kidnapped on March 21. His body was found on April 19 in the riverbed of the Assa River near the village of Nesterovskaya, Sunzha District, on the border of Ingushetia and Chechnya.

The topic of Gorchkhanov's death was raised during the meeting with the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov of the members of the working group for the Caucasus of the Russian Public Chamber, headed by Maxim Shevchenko. This was written on May 4 in his blog on LiveJournal by Kaloy Akhilgov, Evkurov's former press secretary and former head of the press service of the President and Government of Ingushetia. According to his story, Evkurov said that indeed Gorchkhanov's body was found but without any traces of torture.

Besides, Akhilgov published a photo of Gorchkhanov's body, given to him by the Ilez's relative. "I don't think that the head of the republic told a deliberate lie; he just repeated what they had reported to him; and he was not reported the truth; therefore, his people had just framed him, because Ilez was not just tortured - he was mutilated. I won't describe what I saw in the photo. Thus, looking at all this horror, I start thinking that Ilez really knew nothing; because a man tortured in this way will tell everything he knows," wrote Akhilgov.

He also posted a video made after discovery of the body; access to it is currently prohibited.

According to Akhilgov, after Gorchkhanov's body was taken to the morgue, and relatives identified Ilez, an official version appeared that he had blown himself up. His relatives immediately went to the morgue to take away his body, fearing that they could blow him up already there. "After a verbal quarrel and a fights near the morgue, they managed to take the body away; but then they returned it for making all the necessary paperwork," wrote Akhilgov.

Let us note here that on May 4, Yunus-Bek Evkurov said that he would instruct investigators to check the version of Gorchkhanov's violent death, said the "Echo Moskvy" Radio Station.
