Oppositional rally held in Yerevan

A rally of the People's Party is over in the capital of Armenia near the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran; however, the announced march along the route: Mashtots Avenue - Amiryan Street - Square of the Republic, was not held. The date of the next action was not announced.

"Our projections of people's frustration came true; therefore, only party supporters are here at the rally today. While the people are still in bewilderment and do not know whom to follow, there will be no next action," said the leader of the People's Party Tigran Karapetyan.

The rally of the People's Party was attended by about 200-300 persons. According to Mr Karapetyan, many had promised to support him on that day, but at the last moment they refused and failed to appear. According to his version, this is due to people's disillusionment, since the opposition failed to meet people's expectations. The party leader has added that his goal is not to win the power but to bring welfare to people.
