Kabardino-Balkaria: grenade thrown by unknown culprits into yard of liturgical building of Jehovah's Witnesses

Last night a triggered combat grenade F-1 was thrown into the yard of the liturgical buildings of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Nartkala (Kabardino-Balkaria). The grenade failed to explode, but it blew up later, in the course of de-mining. Nobody was hurt.

As stated by the press service of the Administrative Centre of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, the records of the CCTV cameras installed in the territory of the believers' building showed that the grenade was thrown out of a passing-by BMW car.

The sappers called from Nalchik decided to neutralize the grenade in place by detonation, having covered it with a 70-kg "sarcophagus" and evacuated the residents of nearby houses. "The explosion was so powerful that, according to eyewitnesses, the sarcophagus flew up to a height of 15 meters," runs the statement.

Today, Rodion Arakhov, head of criminal police of the city, summoned the believers for a talk with him and Vladimir Avazov, head of public security. According to the Administrative Centre, the police officers were generally interested in the internal affairs of the religious community and the names of believers.
