Investigation into the murder of "Spartak" FC fan Yegor Sviridov is over

Investigators have completed their inquiry into the killing of Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the "Spartak" Football Club, which was committed at night on December 6 in Moscow. This was reported by Vadim Yakovenko, Acting Head of the Investigatory Department for Moscow of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), who added that there are five figurants in the case.

"The criminal investigation is over; currently the defendants study the case materials," said Yakovenko.

According to investigators, the brawl in Moscow, during which Sviridov was killed, was organized by five persons. Aslan Cherkesov was charged of killing Sviridov. Akai Akaev, Khasan Ibragimov, Nariman Ismailov and Arthur Arsibiev are charged of disorderly conduct and intentional infliction of light bodily harm.

Vadim Yakovenko has added that the law enforcers who had initially released the participants of the brawl, made it not on some mercenary motives or other personal interest. "This is not about criminal responsibility, but about a disciplinary offence," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Yakovenko as saying.

In his turn, Viktor Golovanov, head of the criminal investigation division of the Moscow GUVD (Chief Interior Department), has declared that detentions on the case of mass disorders in Manege Square that burst out on December 11 will continue; and soon several more persons will be detained, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" writes.
