Group of rebels is trying to left Dagestan for Azerbaijan

One of the rebel groups acting in the Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan is supposedly trying to left for Azerbaijan, Tsuntinsky district administration deputy head on public security Khizri Labayev has reported today.

Locals saw a group of gunmen moving through the village of Antsukh to the Tlyarotinsky district of Dagestan last night, according to the official.

"From the Tlyarotinsky district, the easiest way for them is to go to Azerbaijan," noted Mr. Labayev. The information has been already delivered to the headquarters on the operation, he said.

Only a small group of rebels is going to Azerbaijan, stressed Khizri Labayev. The other several groups are trying to reach Georgia or Chechnya.
