Detentions in Kidero continue, residents report

The residents of the village of Kidero, Tsuntin District of Dagestan, report that detentions in the village continue by unidentified power agents in masks. On April 22 they was detained here Ayubkhan Magomedov, and on April 23 - his fellow villagers Magomed Abdurakhmanov and Rama Magomedov. It became known only today that they are kept at the IVS (temporary detention facility) of Makhachkala.

Let us remind you that on April 20, Mukhtar Zhabuev, a resident of the village, said that after searches in the houses of his fellow villagers Magomed Abdulkhalikov, Shakhban Magomedov and Magomed Magomedov, the young people were taken away by law enforcers to some unknown place.

On April 23, a resident of this village Magomed Abdurakhmanovich Magomedov reported that on April 22 the house of his son Ayubkhan Magomedov, born in 1978, was visited by four policemen, who arrived in Chevrolet-Niva, URAL and UAZ cars. They were dressed in camouflage and civilian clothes; one of them was wearing a mask. They presented a search warrant, searched the house in the presence of witnesses, but found nothing illegal. Then they took away Magomedov's computer, ordered him to dress warmly and took him away to some unknown place. This is stated in the message of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial", received by the "Caucasian Knot".

Only today relatives learned that Magomedov is contained at the IVS of Makhachkala. Apart from him, the facility keeps the villagers of Kidero Magomed Omarovich Abdurakhmanov and Rama Mirzamagomedovich Magomedov, who were detained on April 23.

"Ayubkhan could be detained under denunciation of local Sufists, who did not like that he was a Salafi. He works as chief accountant of the district financial division of Kidero. He is married, has three children; he was neither extremist nor - moreover - terrorist," said his father. He fears that his son may be tortured at the IVS.

So far, there are no comments from law enforcers of the Tsuntin District and IVS of Makhachkala about these arrests.
