Committee for adaptation of gunmen in Dagestan complied the request of arrested citizens of Kazakhstan

On April, 13, the Committee for assistance to adaptation of persons who decided to stop terrorist and extremist activities in the territory of Dagestan to peaceful life adopted an appeal to the Supreme Court and Public prosecutor's office of the republic to reduce preventive punishment for four citizens of Kazakhstan arrested for participation in paramilitary groups in the territory of Dagestan.

Rastivan Begov, Senior secretary of the Committee, the President's Counsellor, told us that in the middle of 2010 Albert Abdikarimov, Seilkhan Daulbaev, Zhaskairat Ikhsanov and Raimbek Yerzhanov in the town of Aktube, Aktubinsk region, arranged to start common participation in jihad in the territory of Dagestan.

Later on all of them were detained by law enforcement bodies. Charges according to clauses 208 (organizing paramilitary groups), 223 (illegal manufacturing of arms) and 222 (illegal purchase, dealing, storage and transporting arms) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation were brought against Abdikarimov, Daulbaev, Ikhsanov and Yerzhanov. Custody was selected as form of preventive punishment for all the four defendants.

All the four told the Committee that they had been befuddled by propagation on the internet, they were remorseful and asking for lenience.

After an exchange of opinions the Committee decided to appeal to the Supreme Court and Public prosecutor's office of the Republic of Dagestan to select a milder preventive punishment for Ikhsanov, Daulbaev, Yerzhanov and Abdikarimov than stipulated for this kind of crime or another one not connected with custody for the period of trial.
