Ust-Dzheguta

Rayon (sector) centre in Karachay-Cherkessia, 15 km south of Cherkessk. Located on the right bank of the Kuban River, on the Sokhumi Military Highway. The terminal of the railway branch from Nevinnomyssk (71 km) in the Armavir - Prokhladnaya line. Population (1992 est.) 31.6 thousand.

Town since 1975.

At the beginning of the 1990s, Ust-Dzheguta had production of building materials; a concrete product plant, a cement works, a lime plant, a silica brick works.

Ust-Dzheguta is where the Stavropol channel rises from the Kuban.
