World community forgot about Karabakh conflict

This is an opinion of the British journalist, Caucasian office coordinator of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting Thomas de Waal, who is the author of the book about Karabakh "The Black Garden" ("black garden" is a translation of the Azerbaijan word "karabakh"). Thomas de Waal presented his book - the first English language edition on the Karabakh conflict - at the International Press Center in Baku on October 30.

"I did not touch a political side of the Karabakh conflict; I showed the tragedy of the people hard hit by this war. 120 interviews are in the book, including those with known politicians and political scientists. 4 UN resolutions on Karabakh are also placed in the book. It is a pity that they have not influenced the Karabakh conflict settlement. I think the world community has forgotten about this problem," said Thomas de Waal.

"The Black Garden" is expected to be translated into Russian and published in Russia.
