43 young persons detained at protest actions in Baku

They were detained today in the centre of the capital of Azerbaijan in the course of the youth anti-government action in response to the call of the social network Facebook "Great People's Day".

"Starting from 12:00 a.m., about 100 supporters of the organizers of the action, split into small groups, openly violated the public order and peace of the population, trying to gather near the 'May 28' metro station," says the statement of the local MIA.

According to official data, "these illegal activities were stopped; 43 persons were detained." In relation to 20 of them, protocols were made "on refusal to obey the police and forwarded to respective bodies for consideration." The remaining 23 detainees listened to warnings about inadmissibility of illegal actions and were released, the "Trend" reports.

According to the MIA, no attempts to hold illegal actions were registered in other cities and regions of the country. Law enforcers explain that the police "will resolutely stop all the actions organized contrary to the law", the "APA" reports.
