Ecologist Vitishko arrested in Krasnodar region released

On Wednesday, March, 9, Evgeny Vitishko, Head of Tuapse branch of "Yabloko" party and member of the Council of "Ecologic Watch in Northern Caucasus" was released after serving 10 days of arrest.

At 15.00, March, 9, Evgeny Vitishko was released from a special isolation ward. Since March, 1, and up to the end of his arrest he had been on a hunger strike as a sign of protest "against lawless judgments and inhuman conditions of custody in Tuapse Department of Interior Affairs", a report on the web-site of "Ecologic Watch in Northern Caucasus" runs.

Suren Gazaryan, Evgeny Vitishko's colleague at "Ecologic Watch" and the party, who had been released before organized a series of piquets in Vitishko's support in Krasnodar.
