"Memorial" vs. Krasnenkov case sent to Izmailovo District Court of Moscow

The civil lawsuit of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" against Andrei Krasnenkov, legal representative of the head of Chechnya, on protection of the business reputation of the HRC has been sent to the Izmailovo District Court of Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Oleg Orlov, Chairman of the "Memorial", that this decision was made today at the session on this case held by the Cheremushki District Court of Moscow.

"The judge decided to send our lawsuit to the Izmailovo District Court," said Orlov. According to his story, it was sent to the only address known to the court, where Krasnenkov had been once registered: 3rd Parkovaya Street. This information, according to Oleg Orlov, was received by the court in response to their official request to the Moscow Department of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia.

According to the Chairman of the "Memorial", earlier two district FMS offices had reported that Krasnenkov was never registered at the addresses, indicated by him in official documents: his lawsuit against the "Memorial" and the power of attorney to the name of Krasnenkov signed by Kadyrov (in the criminal case "Kadyrov vs. Orlov").

As noted by Mr Orlov, the court was forced to send these requests, as Krasnenkov would not appear to sessions. Today, according to the Chairman of the "Memorial", Krasnenkov was also absent at the Cheremushki Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Cheremushki District Court of Moscow that the outcome of today's session was "definition of the court of jurisdiction." The court spokesman refused to indicate the particular court, where the case would go, saying that the ruling, which should be finalized within five days, was not ready yet.
