Egle Kusaite's advocate demands to unite her case with that of Magmadovas

Lawyer Kestutis Stungys, who is in charge of the defence of Egle Kusaite, accused of preparing terror act in Russia, expressed doubts on whether his client would be able to go to Russia to evidence on the case of natives of Chechnya Apti and Aishat Magmadova, accused of having recruited Kusaite for committing a terror act.

Mr Stungys told Lithuanian journalists, who had learnt from the "Caucasian Knot" news item that the Russian court was summoning Egle Kusaite for evidencing in Moscow, that there are other witnesses in Lithuania on prosecution against Magmadovas, figuring in Kusaite's case and associated with e-mail correspondence of Egle Kusaite with Magmadovas, the Lithuanian website "15 min.lt" writes.

"I can't imagine a Lithuanian citizen going to a Moscow court to testify. Besides, same persons should not witnesses and the accused at the same time. These two cases should be combined and considered by the same court. Now they are artificially separated. Without Magmadovas, Kusaite's case is not complete; and vice versa. Indeed, Kusaite is accused of creating a terrorist grouping, while Magmadovas - of recruiting Kusaite for terror activities," said Kestutis Stungys.
