Nagorno-Karabakh shows non-translated foreign films

The Karabakh-based Public Organization "European Movement of Artsakh" has organized screening of European films for young people to promote studying foreign languages. The action started on February 10 and will last for a month.

Spectators were already offered the movie "Looking for Eric" by British director Ken Loach.

According to Aik Khanumyan, coordinator of the action, all the offered films had been awarded prizes at international film festivals in different years. He noted that "the movies will be screened without translation to allow viewers to improve their foreign language skills."

Knar Avetisyan, an employee of the arts division of the "European Movement of Artsakh", said that during the month viewers will be invited to watch 30 films in English, French, German and Russian.

"Most of the movies are in English, because the Karabakh youth have a stronger yearning for English than for other European languages," said Avetisyan.
