In Moscow, anti-fascist activists lay flowers to Unknown Soldier's Tomb

In central Moscow an action took place "We say: no fascism on Russian soil!" The participants laid flowers at the Unknown Soldier's Tomb.

As reported by Asya Israilova, head of the press service of the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations (RCCN), the event was attended by about 50 persons, including representatives of the RCCN, the Club "Multinational Russia", the public organization "Union of Students' Communities" and the National Council for Children and Youth Associations of Russia. According to her story, activists of the inter-regional patriotic movement "Heirs of the Victory" refused to take part.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, Ms Israilova stressed that the flowers were laid to the Tomb not only by the Caucasian nationals. "Non-members of our organization also came; they called us to the office in advance and asked how they could join," she said.

The safety of the participants was ensured by law enforcers, who watched the event while standing at the gate leading to the Alexander Gardens.

"Our action is peaceful. We oppose the actions that took place in Manege Square on December 11," said Sultan Togonidze, head of the youth committee of the RCCN. "We don't want to make a symbol out of the 11th day of the month," he said as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

In Manege Square, where the action of nationalists is planned, the situation is calm, as the "Russian News Service" reports.

It was reported earlier that following the appeals of young nationalists to come today to Manege Square, large forces of the militia and internal troops of Russian MIA were brought to the vicinity of the Square. The centre of the hall of the Okhotny Ryad Metro station was announced as the gathering place by the organizers.
