Employees of Chechen MIA arrested in Rostov Region

Two Chechen militiamen, who, according to the investigation, threatened a waitress with firearms and resisted detention, were put in custody in the Rostov Region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3 militiamen from the city of Aksai, Rostov Region, detained their colleagues from Chechnya, who started a brawl in a café and rendered resistance to local MIA (Ministry of Internal Affairs) officers.

"By decision of the district court both suspected Chechen MIA agents were arrested; the investigation is underway," the "Interfax" quotes Valery Kuznetsov, Public Prosecutor of the Rostov Region.

According to investigators, the two Chechen militiamen, who were spending their time in a café of the village of Starocherkasskaya, first demanded, under a threat of a pistol, from the waitress to bring them alcohol. "Then, when a militia unit was called to the café, the Chechens rendered a very active resistance with shooting, and already when trying to get away in a Zhiguli-2109 car, hit a militiaman with a splasher," said Alexei Polyansky, head of the press service of the regional GUVD (Chief Interior Department).
