One more action within the framework of “Strategy-31” passed off in Sochi

Human rights and civil activists, leaders of Territorial Public Self-government groups (TPS), members of non-governmental organizations and political parties gathered in the public garden near Municipal administration building of Sochi on January, 31, from 17 to 19 o’clock, for a sanctioned meeting in protection of the Constitution of the Russian Federation within the framework of the All-Russian action “Strategy-31”.

Yury Saraev, organizer of the meeting, Chairman of the Anti-corruption Council of Sochi, made a statement of a high corruption level in the city.

Gennady Bedrakov, Chairman of “Makarenko” TPS, said that during two days only over two thousand signatures were collected against illegal, in the signers’ opinion, rate increase of cost on housing and utilities infrastructure services. A similar collection of signatures is in process in all the big micro-districts of Sochi.

Svetlana Shekhmameteteva, Chairman of “Gagarinsky” TPS, were a double of Kurortny avenue highway right across the residential community and sanitary protective zone is under construction expressed a protest against this project on behalf of all the residents of Sochi.

At the end of the meeting the participants accepted a resolution on the necessity to take into consideration public opinion, stop usurping authority and discriminating the people and democratic principles. The participants called for the residents of Sochi to integrate and put up resistance to the corruptionists.

Actions in protection of clause 31 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation granting the citizens the right of gathering freely and peacefully to express their opinion are carried out in different cities and towns of Russia on the thirty first day of each month which has this date.
