Business-Ombudsman appointed in Georgia

On January 28, Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri held consultations with David Bakradze, the parliamentary speaker, which resulted in appointment of Giorgi Pertaya to the post of Business-Ombudsman.

The main objective of introducing this post is to bring the authorities closer to private businesses. "This is a very important post; and Giorgi Pertaya will continue the work started a year ago. In particular, during this period he worked actively with the private sector and has extensive experience in this direction," the "GHN" quotes the Premier as saying.

According to Mr Pertaya, he will protect the rights of businessmen. "They should know that they are not threatened by the state; and decisions are made in accordance with the law," the "Trend" quotes him.
