25 schools in Volgograd region are closed up for quarantine

25 schools in Volgograd region have been completely closed up to provide preventive measures because of a threat of diffusion of flu and acute respiratory virus disease, officials of the Regional Committee of Education reported.

They also said that classes in 41 more schools had been partially held up. "All in all 12 thousand children in 8 rural areas of the region as well as in Volgograd and the towns of Volzhsky and Kamishin are out of classes", our source reported.

According to the data of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in Volgograd region, over 15 thousand cases of flu and acute respiratory virus disease have been registered in the region during the past week and the excess of epidemic threshold makes 21 per cent, "Interfax-Yug" reports.

"Caucasian Knot" has formerly reported that mass diffusion of the flu virus in the winter period had repeatedly become the cause of establishing quarantine at schools of Volgograd region in the previous years, too.
