Investigation: personnel of "Domodedovo" airport extorted money from the passengers
Multiple facts of extorting money from passengers arriving from Central Asia have been discovered among the personnel of Line Department of Interior Affairs (LDIA) of "Domodedovo" airport, Tatiana Morozova, official representative of Moscow Inter-regional Transit Investigative department of Prosecutor's committee of inquiry, reported.
According to Morozova, analyses of criminal proceedings started against the personnel of LDIA of "Domodedovo" airport indicates that a stable system of extorting money from citizens of the states of Central Asia had been formed.
"The ways of extortion and the sums of kickbacks are quite standard", "Interfax" quotes Tatiana Morozova.
"Militia is passive and only inspects migrants at the best", President Dmitry Medvedev characterized the militia's activities in "Domodedovo" airport after the act of terror of January, 24.
Sergey Mironov, Speaker of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Parliament, mentioned irresponsibility and corruption in law enforcement agencies as one of the causes of such tragedies as the act of terror in the Moscow airport "Domodedovo".
After the act of terror in "Domodedovo" airport the news of dismissal of Andrey Alekseev, Chief of Transit Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Russian Federation in Central Federal Okrug, Chief of LDIA of the airport and two of his deputies by the President came. Rashid Nurgaliev, Head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, discharged the Chief of Line Department of "Domodedovo" airport and two more officers.
