A child perished as a result of gas explosion in Chechnya

On January, 26, one child perished and two more got severe burns and traumas as a result of domestic gas explosion in Grozny district. This has been already the third case of this kind in the territory of the republic for the last week.

The accident took place in one of the private houses located in Nuradilov street, in the settlement of Chechen-Aul, and was caused by a disrepair of a gas stove. The owner of the house and his children got injured, a source in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya told a reporter of "Caucasian Knot".

"Three children aged six, four and three got the gravest burns and traumas and had to be taken to the Children's Republican clinic of Vladikavkaz, North Osetia. In spite of all the efforts of the physicians the eldest child died. The state of the rest two is still grave", an official of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The children's father also got grave burns and was taken to one of the hospitals of Grozny.

At night of January, 26, in the settlement of Khankala near Grozny, the place of dislocation of the personnel of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia who were on a commission in Chechnya, an explosion of domestic gas also took place. The investigation found out that the explosion had been caused by carelessness of one of the militiamen who dropped a burning cigarette end in a room where gas steams had been accumulated.

On January, 22, two little children perished in the settlement of Kharkovskaya, Shelkovskoy district of Chechnya, as a result of domestic gas escape. One more child, a boy of seven, got burns.
