Two children survive in massacre in Stavropol Territory

Two small children remained alive in the mass murder of a family, committed in a private house in Stavropol, reports the Chief Investigatory Department (CID) for the North-Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts (NCFD and SFD) of the Investigatory Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Vladimir Markin, the spokesman of the IC, said that the owner of the household and his family members were assassinated; there were no children among them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that eight bodies - five men and three women - were detected with gunshot wounds in the garage of one of private houses in Stavropol.

"According to our information, two small children are alive," said a source from the above CID for the NCDF and SFD of the Russian IC. The total death toll, as he said, makes eight persons, the "Interfax" reports.

The health of one of the children found in the house with dead bodies - of a 15-day-old girl - is out of danger, the intensive therapy ward said.

The inquiry into the massacre in the Stavropol Territory is under personal control of the Ivan Sydoruk, Deputy General Public Prosecutor of Russia, said Marina Gridneva, spokesperson of the Russia's GPO (General Prosecutor's Office). Mr Sydoruk plans to go to Stavropol, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
