A complaint of Sapiyat Magomedova beaten up by militiamen will be considered by the Supreme Court of Dagestan

Lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova beaten up by militiamen has submitted a complaint to the Supreme Court of Dagestan against the actions of a judge of Sovietsky Federal court of Makhachkala who had passed the materials of the case over for an expertise.

“Caucasian Knot” has already reported that Sapiyat Magomedova was beaten up in the Municipal Department of Interior Affairs of Khasavyurt on July, 17, 2010, when she came to the office to meet her client Malika Evtemirova. On July, 1, 2010, criminal proceedings were started against the personnel of the Municipal Department of Interior Affairs of Khasavyurt according to clause “Abuse of authority”. The next day criminal proceedings were started against Magomedova herself according to clause “Insult of a representative of authority”. 

In the opinion of the defense, signs of forgery by officials were present in the materials of the case.

“One of our demands was an expertise in Moscow or another city, not in Dagestan, - Sapiyat Magomedova said to a reporter of “Caucasian Knot”. – When I wished to find out at what stage proceeding of the case was it became clear that the judge ordered to carry out the expertise in Makhachkala. I submitted the respective complaint and it will be regarded by the Supreme Court of Dagestan. I have not yet been informed on the date of the consideration”.

Besides, according to Sapiyat Magomedova, the judge resolved to carry out a handwritng expertise, not a forensic or physicochemical one, which had been the attorneys’ demand.
