"Siberia" Airlines to fly to Georgia till end of March

The Russia's "Siberia" Airlines were granted a permit from the "Rosaviatsiya" (Federal Air Transportation Agency) to go on with Moscow-Tbilisi direct charter flights till the end of March 2011. This was announced on January 5 by Paata Kamarauli, the Airlines' representative in Georgia.

As previously reported by the "Caucasian Knot", a similar permit was granted by the "Rosaviatsiya" to the "Georgian Airways", which makes Moscow-Tbilisi direct charter flights in parallel with the "Siberia".

According to Mr Kamarauli, the "Siberia" and "Georgian Airways" will continue making four flights per week each, the "Interfax" reports.

In January, the "Georgian Airways" plans to make two charter flights to St Petersburg.

Let us remind you that the "Georgian Airways" received a permit to make Moscow-Tbilisi direct charter flights in August 2010. Earlier, direct flights between Russia and Georgia were cancelled in 2006 after aggravation of mutual relations between the two countries; then, restored for a while in 2008, and then cancelled again in August 2008. In 2009, charter flights were allowed April - at celebration of the Orthodox Easter - and in May-June.
