Investigation into murders of Sadulayeva and Dzhabrailov is fruitless, rights defenders assert

During the elapsed 18 months, the inquiry into the murders of the employees of the humanitarian organization "Let's Save the Generation" Zarema Sadulayeva and her husband Alik Dzhabrailov "has not left its starting point." This was stated by Adlan Mukhamedov, the current head of the NGO "Let's Save the Generation".

"I'm in permanent contact with the investigator, but there is no new information - nothing about the suspects and nothing about the versions of the murder - at least they tell me nothing," Adlan Mukhamedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us note here that in March 2010 Mr Kadyrov accused, during his meeting with the PACE Rapporteur Dick Martin, "international terrorists or those who support them" of murdering human rights defenders Natalia Estemirova and Zarema Sadulayeva.

"Here, it depends on who is called who: officially, we have no more terrorists left in the republic," said Mukhamedov.

"In the end, we're just sick and tired of that: one group is accused of killing the spouse, then the other," said Svetlana Gannushkina, chair of the "Civil Assistance" Committee. "They went so far as to accuse international terrorists of committing these murders. Well, since again international terrorists act in Chechnya, President Ramzan Kadyrov shall be responsible."

The Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic refused to comment on the investigation into the crime, saying only that "it is in process."

After the death of the head of the NGO "Let's Save the Generation" Zarema Sadulayeva and her husband Alik Dzhabrailov, part of employees of the NGO left Chechnya.

"They were forced to leave out," says Svetlana Gannushkina. "They were persecuted there."

Adlan Mukhamedov also said that the organization "Let's Save the Generation" in the territory of Chechnya continues. "Our focus is on working with young people and temporarily displaced persons who live in hostels of Grozny: we help in career profiling, assist in finding employment and conduct workshops," said the source.
