Parade of Santa Clauses held for the first time in Volgograd

The parade of Russian Fathers Frost and German Santa Clauses, first held in Volgograd, brought together about three hundred participants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Volgograd parade of Fathers Frost was conceived as an analogue of the world-famous German parade of Santa Clauses in the city of Brandenburg, but as adapted to the Russian culture. According to the organizers, the show of this scale was never held in the city before.

The participants of the parade organized a festivity march, which was headed by Father Frost on a white horse. The route of the march was along the main streets of the city and was 2.5 kilometres long.

Fathers Frost, Snow Maidens, bears and witches - about 300 participants of the costume parade in total - marched across the city with songs and dances, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

At four in the afternoon, the participants of the march gathered at the museum-panorama "Stalingrad Battle". Along with Russian Fathers Frost, there were their German colleagues - Santa Clauses.

Then, the parade moved down the Chuikova Street to Krasnoznamenskaya Street, where thousands of Volgograd residents joined it.

As reported by the organizers of the carnival march - the public organization "The Union of Generations" - now the parade of Fathers Frost in Volgograd will become annual, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Volgograd" writes.
