Five presidential contenders already known in Georgia

According to the latest data, there are already 5 presidential contenders in Georgia. Igor Georgadze, ex-state security minister, was the last who submitted an application for registration as a presidential contender to the Central Election Commission (CEC), reported the CEC news center.

His candidacy was nominated by the initiative group of 50 thousand people.

Georgadze left Georgia in 1995. Soon after it Georgian law-enforcement agencies accused him of being an organizer of the terrorist act against Eduard Shevardnadze.

The applications for registration were also submitted to the CEC by Roin Liparteliani (leader of the David the Builder society), Mikhail Saakashvili (leader of the National Movement), Kartlos Garibashvili (head of the Georgian Lawyers Association), and Georgy Korganashvili, announced the CEC news press center.
