In Nalchik, lawyer holds picket in defence of Caucasians detained in Moscow

Today, advocate Larisa Dorogova held a solo picket in Maria Square in Nalchik in protest against the mass detention of Caucasian young people during riots in Moscow.

Ms Dorogova also protested against the military policy pursued in recent years in the Caucasus. "It concerns our youngsters: some of them are stigmatized as extremists, others - as nationalists. In fact, our young people are not worse than others'," the picketer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Her picket started at midday Moscow time and ended in thirty minutes at the demand of the militia. Larisa Dorogova held a poster in her hands: "Are Caucasians bad? Please give us freedom!"

"People of different age came up to me," she continued, "and told about their support and intention to join the picket. But the militiamen, who appeared in Maria Square, didn't allow them to do it."
