"Bribes are sweet" - winner of anti-corruption ads contest in Rostov Region

Today, on December 14, Rostov-on-Don has opened an exhibition-contest of social advertisements "Clean Hands". Winners of the contest were announced at the opening.

Works of more than 100 authors from 55 municipality formations of the region, performed in all sorts of techniques, took part in the contest. The event was organized by the Committee for Youth Policy of the Administration of the Rostov Region with the support of the regional anti-corruption commission.

According to Sergey Chuev, Chairman of the above Committee, the contest will be continued in 2011; and the winners' works will get to universities, schools and colleges. Sergey Kulik, Executive Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Rostov Region, noted the youth's interest for anti-corruption topics.

Yegor Petrovskiy from Taganrog won in the nomination "For the Best Creative Idea". He finds the problem of corruption to be an everyday one, not just pertaining to higher circles of the society. His poster presents two successions: "1 cigarette = 3 minutes of life" and "2 bribes = 5 years of life". Yegor explained that 5 years is the average imprisonment term appointed for a bribe in Russia today.

The first place in the contest of posters was given to the triptych "Corruption, legal nihilism, indifference" by Sergey Naidyonov, a student of the Institute of Architecture and Arts of the Southern Federal District (SFD). Ekaterina Miloserdova, a student of the Taganrog Institute of Technology of the SFD, with her poster "Checked: no corruption" took the second place.

The first place among animation clips was given to the work "Bribes are sweet" by Alyona Pereyaslova from the Taganrog Institute of Technology of the SFD.

The Jury decided to mark also the youngest participant of the contest: the seven-year-old Ekaterina Scheglova with her work "No to corruption in our city". Kate studies in the multimedia studio of the Palace of Children's Creativity of Rostov-on-Don.
