The piquet was organized by Informational Center (IC) "Volgograd-Express" and "Ecology" club with participation of regional unit of "Yabloko" party and representatives of CPRF.

It is the first case of this kind in Russia and further treating unsafe waste products in the enterprises of the country will depend on this judgment to a great extent", Elena Vasilieva, Director of IC "Volgograd-Express", said to a reporter of "Caucasian Knot".

According to Elena Vasilieva, hearings of the criminal case against S. M. Kravtsov, chief engineer of "Plastcard" public corporation, on the fact of abuse of authority are going on. He is accused of having committed a crime stipulated by part 1, clause 201 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.

"As a result of understating the danger category and the amount of waste products, illegal use of lowering coefficient, "Plastcard" public corporation has underpaid over 360 million rubles to federal, regional and local budgets, - Elena Vasilieva explained. - Besides, real degree of damage not only to the budget but first of all to the health of residents Svetloyarsky and Krasnoarmeisky districts and Volgograd on the whole has not been established yet".

According to socially active ecologists, Public prosecutor's office and "Rosthechnadzor" "could more actively defend the interests of the state and the residents of Volgograd in court, suppress "Plastcard's" attempts to mislead the court".

"Today the citizens still have to stand up for defense of their health and their right for favorable environment by themselves", Director of IC "Volgograd-Express" declared.

During their action the activists managed to collect over 200 signatures. This week any resident of Volgograd can sign the appeal to the President.

"The question whether we are polluting the environment or not is a technically complex one and it cannot be solved in the square. There is the court which appoints the respective expertise. This only will show who is right and who is wrong. Things will go according to the judgment", Mikhail Klebanov, Director General of "Plastcard" public corporation said to a reporter of "Caucasian Knot".

Yet on November, 23, a piquet was held in the Alley of Heroes of Volgograd organized by IC "Volgograd-Express" and "Ecology" club with participation of representatives of Russian "Greenpeace".
