Participants of international conference in Moscow to discuss media problems in Northern Caucasus

On December 8-10, the Moscow's Central Journalists' House in Nikitskiy Boulevard will host an international conference named "Securing Safe Journalism in Eastern Europe", planning to deal with complexities of media work in Northern Caucasus and the problems faced by media in covering the events in the region.

"Most of the upcoming conference will be on journalists' safety. It is through this topic the discussion will pass over to the media situation in Northern Caucasus and the media, working on the region's topicality," Boris Timoshenko, head of the Monitoring Service of the Glasnost Defence Foundation, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The conference is held by a number of international organizations, including the International Federation of Journalists, ENJN (European Neighbourhood Journalism Network), Thomson Foundation, Russian Union of Journalists, Glasnost Defence Foundation, Media Rights Defence Centre and others.

Participation of the editor-in-chief of the Internet medium "Caucasian Knot" is also planned.
