Prosecutor of Kuschevskiy District demoted

After the check conducted by the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) after the resonant massacre in Kuschevskaya village, the head of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kuschevskiy District, Krasnodar Territory, was demoted and one of his deputies was dismissed.

"The Public Prosecutor of the Kuschevskiy District and one of his deputies were demoted to lower-level positions, while another deputy was dismissed from prosecution bodies," runs the website of the GPO.

The check has revealed that the Prosecutor's Office of the Kuschevskiy District illegally suspended and stopped criminal cases in order to form favourable statistics of law enforcers' activities, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

On the results of the inspection conducted in the Krasnodar Territory, the commission of the GPO demanded to register 242 previously concealed crimes.

The commission also found illegal 88 refusals to initiate criminal cases and demanded to initiate more than 10 criminal cases on murders and people's disappearances under criminal circumstances, the "Interfax" reports.

  • Court releases Malgobek law enforcers accused of extortion
