Azerbaijani CEC reviews appeals related to past elections

At its regular meeting held on Saturday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan considered 31 applications received in connection with the recent parliamentary elections.

It was decided to continue studying 26 of them, four were rejected, and one complaint was sent back, because its idea was not clear.

According to Natig Mamedov, Secretary of the CEC, the Commission received some applications of defamatory nature. Some of them contain demand to cancel the election outcomes, the "Trend" reports.

At the same time, some candidates for deputies have turned to the prosecutor's authorities directly. As reported by Mazakhir Panakhov, Chairman of the CEC, "the prosecutor's office said that some candidates call them and complain about violations at the elections," the "News-Azerbaijan" reports.
