Pro-government For New Georgia bloc won parliamentary elections

The Central Election Commission announced the results of the November 2 parliamentary elections on Thursday.

The pro-government For New Georgia bloc won 21.32%, the Democratic Revival Union - the party of Adjaria's leader Aslan Abashidze - 18.84%, the Saakashvili - National Movement bloc 18.8%, the Labor Party - 12.04%, the Burdjanadze - Democrats bloc - 8.79% and the New Right bloc - 7.82% of the vote.

The remaining participants in the elections did not break the 7% threshold required to gain representation in the parliament.

The referendum on cutting down the deputy corps from 235 to 150 parliamentarians was held in Georgia at one time with the parliamentary elections. 1.6 out of 1.9 million voters participated in the elections answered this question in the affirmative.
