Kabardino-Balkaria: militia makes new lists of Wahhabites

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from informal sources that employees of law-enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria are making new lists of Wahhabites. For this purpose they visit educational institutions of the Republic and write down every pupil or student who is practising namaz. Thus, for example, yesterday from the Kabardino-Balkarian trading-technological lyceum a pupil was brought to the OVD (militia station) No. 2 of Nalchik who made namaz right in the class during a break. He was put down on the list.

In the Zolskiy District, militiamen are visiting widows of perished militants and force them to write promises not to become shahids (suicide bombers).

The combine of ritual services of Nalchik has stopped to issue certificates Form No. 33 to relatives of lost militants (required to receive the state funeral subsidy); it was done by the instruction of the Public Prosecutor of Kabardino-Balkaria till the end of the investigation. The certificates were issued only on 33 lost militants. Till the end of the investigation, they have also stopped to appoint social allowances to the children of lost militants.
