The majority of North Caucasian bloggers are registered in Dagestan

A census of blog owners in "LiveJournal" has been carried out on the initiative of North Caucasian bloggers. Dagestani bloggers have become leaders: out of 538 North Caucasian bloggers 185 fall on this republic. 

The idea of Northern Caucasian census of bloggers belongs to an Ingush blogger timag82. According to the data he has collected, all in all 538 bloggers are registered in Northern Caucasus and 358 persons from this list are active ones. The list includes: 185 Dagestani, 151 Osetian, 106 Ingush, 63 Chechen, 31 Circassian and 6 Balkar bloggers. The bloggers' mean age is about 30.

Alexander Polyakov, sports journalist from Dagestan whose nick in LJ is coverciano, has become absolute leader in North Caucasian blogosphere by the number of entries. Nariman Gajiyev, another Dagestani blogger, TV journalist (under nick pcnariman) is a leader by the number of friends, his friend list includes 1920 people. The leadership by the number of comments (there are 56239 of them) belongs to a Circassian blogger eva-vitli.

This statistics involves not only residents of North Caucasian republics but also expatriates from these regions currently living in other places of the country and abroad.
