During attack on Parliament in Grozny more than 20 power agents were lost, a source says

The data about the casualties among power agents during the attack of three suicide bombers on the parliament building in Grozny on October 19 were significantly understated, said a source from local law enforcement bodies. According to his version, there were more than 40 wounded and 20 lost law enforcers.

Let us remind you that in the morning on October 19 three suicide bombers rushed into the territory of the complex of buildings of the Chechen Parliament. President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov then said that only two people were injured; the rest of them went to doctors because of minor cuts and stress; while the operation to neutralize the bombers took just 15-20 minutes. According to the latest official data, the attack killed 3 and injured 17 persons.

"There were over 40 wounded persons," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Over 20 power agents were lost."

He also said that after two bombers had blown themselves up the third one said through the loudspeaker that they had knowingly taken this step. "He also cried out something like '20 days are left for you' and that 'there are 100,000 of us'. We even had information that several militants' squads under command of Gakaev, Vadalov and Gaziev entered Grozny ready to launch broad-scale warfare any moment, but later the facts were not confirmed," said the source.

Residents of the houses located near the complex of parliament buildings said that after the militants' attack a huge number of power agents and several armoured vehicles were brought to the complex.

"There were probably about a thousand servicemen and militiamen there, or even more," a local resident named Aslan is convinced. "Power agents were just shelling the building from afar. When it was announced in the evening that the terrorists had been liquidated by 6 or 12 OMON (special-purpose militia) and SOBR (Russian equivalent of SWAT - special weapons assault team), it was just funny to hear. How can you liquidate a suicide bomber if he has blown himself up?"
