A soldier perished at the border between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh

A serviceman perished yesterday, October, 26, at about 16:45 local time, as a result of firing upon the stationing of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army in the North-Eastern (Martakert) direction of contact line between armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

According to Information and Propaganda Department of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army, Arut Ashotovich Grigoryan, the victim, born in 1990, had been called up for statutory service by Stepanakert military registration and enlistment office. The details of the accident are currently being investigated.

In addition, Press service of the Ministry of Defense of Nagorno-Karabakh informed that during the night between October, 25 and 26 and in the daytime, 22 episodes of violation of cease-fire regime had been registered in different areas of contact line between armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

According to the same office, the Azerbaijani party has fired 160 shots from different kinds of small arms including sniper's rifles upon the Karabakh positions in the direction of Martun, Askheran and Martakert districts. "After the respective actions of the units of the Defense Army of NKR the enemy stopped fire", the Ministry of Defense of Karabakh reported.

The Azerbaijan party's reaction to the statement from Nagorno-Karabakh is yet unknown.
