In Ingushetia, relatives of kidnapped local resident do not rule out restart of rally in Magas

Magomed Gagiev, brother of Dzhamaleil Gagiev, who disappeared in Ingushetia on October 14, said that at that point of time the rally of the members of the victim's clan was suspended, while Magomed himself was summoned to the Investigatory Committee, where he hoped to get information about the fate of his brother, because the family did not exclude that he could be detained by special agencies.

Vakha Chapanov, head of the Information Agency "Maximum", told earlier to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that about 200 persons came to the rally. A short time after the start of the event local deputies, militiamen, Alexei Vorobyov, Chairman of the Government of the Republic, Viktor Pogolov, head of the Ingush Interior Ministry, and Bekkhan Atigov, Security Council Secretary, appeared in the venue.

Magomed Gagiev said that this may not be the last protest action, because, according to his story, it was one of the few ways to make the authorities pay attention to constant kidnappings.

"Dzhamaleil disappeared on October 14, on Thursday afternoon, between the villages of Ekazhevo and Ali-Yurt," said the source and added that about the same time in this very highway Ekazhevo - Ali-Yurt power agents in several cars and ATCs (armoured troop carriers) were noticed.

"We have every reason to believe that Dzhamaleil was kidnapped by these security forces. He worked for the rural housing and communal service; he was never engaged in any illegal acts; he enjoyed good reputation among villagers and was a law-abiding citizen. We have appealed all authorities: Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB, Prosecutor's Office, but nobody gave us any data about his detention," said the source. He ruled out the version of his brother's murder as a result of an everyday quarrel, since, according to Magomed, his brother had good relationships with everyone.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press office of the President of Ingushetia that the head of the republic was away on business at the moment.

Bekkhan Atigov, Security Council Secretary of Ingushetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they managed to settle the situation. He also noted that claims against law enforcement bodies were ungrounded, since there were "no official detention of Gagiev," while opponents of the authorities and opposition had pushed people to the rally.

According to Mr Atigov, officials from the municipality of Ali-Yurt and Security Council will monitor, on their part, the further course of investigation. However, there are no results so far, he said.
