"High Fest" International Theatrical Festival starts in Armenia

The Eighth International "High Fest" Festival was launched on October 1 in Armenia with participation 33 theatrical groups from 22 countries.

"Every person has 5 senses: touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste. In my opinion, the most important of these senses is the sense of touch, since you can change the world through it. We admire the great persons of this world, who left their marks in history, and you have to strain all your senses to guess who the next one is," said Arthur Gukasyan, President of the "High Fest" at the opening ceremony.

The festival was opened by the play "Annat" staged by "Gessekh" Theatre from Iran. The performance staged by three actresses tells about the everyday life of an Iranian woman.

The "High Fest" will last till October 8. The Armenian stage will house such well-known theatre companies like the "Imitating the Dog" from the UK, theatre "Ludem" from the Czech Republic and the "Charlestown Working Theatre" from the United States. The annual conference of the International Association of Theatres and Events will also be held in Yerevan during the festival, the "PanArmenian" reports.
