Volgograd Region: court refuses to restore official who retired after fires

The Rudnya District Court of the Volgograd Region has rejected the claim on reinstatement lodged by Viktor Morozov, former head of the district administration, who had voluntarily resigned after local fires on September 2-3. The claimant is going to challenge this decision.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 6, apart from Victor Morozov head of the Rudnya District, because of fires, which jumped on dwelling houses, Igor Pickalov, regional deputy for construction, housing and municipal services and at the same time the chairman of the regional commission for emergencies, and Alexander Kazachkov, head of the Kotovsk Municipal District, filed their dismissal applications. However, on September 28 Morozov appealed to the court demanding his restoration in office and saying that he had applied for resignation under pressure.

"The court found the claimant's arguments ungrounded and rejected his claim against the administrations of the region and district, and against the district soviet on reinstatement," said the spokesman of the regional court.

However, Morozov would not agree with the court's decision and is going to challenge it at a higher instance, the "Interfax-South" reports.
