Two top-level militiamen in Stavropol region are suspected of bribery

Criminal proceedings against Chief of Specialized investigative department for economic crimes and Head of Investigation unit of Department of Interior affairs in Stavropol suspected of an attempt and complicity in taking a bribe of one million rubles have been started in Stavropol region.

According to the investigation's data, Vitaly Knyazhev, Chief of Specialized investigative department for economic crimes, attempted to extort a bribe from a man accused of illegal entrepreneurial activity. The officer promised to stop criminal prosecution for one million rubles.

Roman Tolstikov, the second figurant of the case, Head of Investigation unit of Department of Interior affairs in Stavropol, played the role of a go-between in this action, he was detained at the moment of bribe taking, "Interfax" reports.

There is no information yet on the position of the suspects and their attorneys.
