Two civilians wounded in special operation in Makhachkala

In the course of the special operation, the militants, who had barricaded in an apartment of a high-rise building in Engels Street in Makhachkala, wounded two young men, who tried to run across the yard, when residents were evacuated.

Local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the alleged militants, seeing that people were evacuated, opened fire on the yard from their submachine guns. Two young men received leg wounds and were hospitalized.

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced this morning in
Makhachkala in Gamidov Avenue and Engels Street, where special fighters blocked supposed militants in multi-storey houses.

According to preliminary data, in the skirmish in Gamidov Avenue an alleged member of illegal armed formations was liquidated - a 26-year-old resident of Kaspiisk. The apartment was almost completely burnt out. At the same time, another flat was blocked in Engels Street, where, under law enforcement bodies, two alleged militants were hiding, including a woman. They refused to surrender, and the house was stormed.

Eyewitnesses of what happened in Gamidov Avenue said that power agents brought a young girl in a hijab out of the cordon; it is supposed that she was militants' helper.
