In Georgia, director general of "Trialeti" TV Company fined by 400 laris

The Gori District Court has imposed a fine of 400 laris on Joni Nanetashvili, director general of "Trialeti" TV Company, for resisting patrol policemen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Joni Nanetashvili was arrested today in Gori, near the TBC Bank.

After detention he was brought to the courthouse, where he asserted at the trial that before he was taken to court patrol policemen "physically abused" him. The latter, in their turn, refuted the accusation. Joni Nanetashvili showed traces of beating to the judge, the "Media.Ge" writes.

"A patrol policeman told me that I was allegedly talking by my cell phone while driving, therefore, I should be fined. I replied that it was not true. Then, he ordered me to open the luggage compartment and threatened to arrest me for non-obedience. At that moment, another policeman got out of the patrol car; he came up and handcuffed me. They forced me out of the car, threw onto the ground and began beating. They struck my head against the hood of the car," says Joni Nanetashvili.

According to his version, he is going to take his medical examination and fix the degree of his physical injuries.

"The illegal arrest of out director general has to do with the policy of our channel, since recently the 'Trialeti' gave the floor on air to such political parties, which are blocked in Tbilisi," the "Georgia Today" quotes Lado Bichashvili.

Joni Nanetashvili was released from the courtroom after hearing his verdict.
