Firemen in Grozny dispersed a meeting against abuse of mothers' capital

A women's meeting of protest in front of the house of the Government in Grozny on October, 4, was dispersed with the help of the firemen of Ministry of Emergency situations (MES), a representative of one of the local non-governmental organizations reported. He said that a group of women was protesting against frauds with the mothers' capital.

"The action passed off generally unnoticed for almost immediately after the women gathered near the house of the Government and started seeking for a talk with the officials the authorities "took measures". Firemen of MES were at once called to the square and dispersed the participants of the meeting", a person who preferred to remain anonymous said to a reporter of "Caucasian Knot".

The leader of the organization found it difficult to answer the question why the firemen were used for dispersal of the meeting. We have also failed to get any comments on the incident from law enforcement bodies of the republic.

It should be mentioned that some residents of Chechnya having certificates for mothers' (family) capital encounter serious difficulties connected with their use and therefore prefer to sell them. Besides, there are problems with execution of the necessary packet of documents because according to what the residents of the republic say, some officials tend to extort bribes for carrying out the respective operations.
