Ex-prosecutor of Volgograd region is accused of swindle

Public prosecutor's office of Volgograd region has confirmed the accusation resolution against Alexander Shtokolov, ex-prosecutor of Sredneakhtuba district, who according to the investigation's version had promised assistance to an entrepreneur in granting him a legal estate for four million rubles.

During the preliminary investigation it was established that about May, 2010, one of the local entrepreneurs appealed to Shtokolov asking him to take measures against Sredneakhtuba district administration which had refused to grant legal estates to the persons the representative of whose interests it was.

Having thanks to his official potential an information in his disposal that the administration was in fact ready to distribute seven legal estates which had been mentioned during his talk with the entrepreneur, Shtokolov, according to the investigators' version, requested an enactment on their distribution under color of inspection of its lawfulness. The ex-prosecutor passed the above mentioned documents on to the entrepreneur demanding two legal estates for "assistance". Later on he agreed to receive their money cost equal to four million rubles explaining that part of the money was meant for some unnamed officials.

The web-site of Public prosecutor's office of Volgograd region reports that Shtokolov's actions have been determined according to point 3, article 30 and point 4, article 159 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (attempt of swindle with the use of one's official position, in form of a serious fraud).
