Mother of judge Novikov holds a mono-picket in Krasnodar Territory

On September 21, Tamara Novikova, mother of Dmitri Novikov, a judge from Sochi, spent several hours in a solo picket in front of the territorial administration and the old and new buildings of the territorial court, trying to draw attention of journalists, public, authorities and Russian President to corruption problems within local authorities.

Let us remind you that in the beginning of July the qualifying board of judges of the Krasnodar Territory agreed to initiation of a criminal case against Dmitri Novikov, a former judge of the Khosta District of Sochi, accused of bribery. Judge Novikov is also a defendant in another case - on swindle.

Ms Novikova asserts that her son's detention was organized by Alexander Chernov, chairman of the territorial court, as her son "knows a lot about Chernov personally and about the whole territorial judicial system," which is commanded by Chernov for many years.

She said that her son would not admit the crime cultivated in judicial structures of the Krasnodar Territory and asserted that her son's rights are also broken at the SIZO (pre-trial facility), where he is now kept.

Tamara Novikova demands that the inspectors at the territorial prosecutor's office consider her son's applications and complaints on the merit and not put them "under the carpet."

She has also noted that two employees from the PR department of the territorial administration came out to her and recommended to continue her picket at the regional court, as the administration of the territory does not interfere into the matters of the courts.

Tamara Novikova says that she received a letter from the administration of the President of the Russian Federation, also running that the guarantor of the Constitution of the Russian Federation does not interfere into court judgements. "But there are no judgements! My son is just slowly killed in the cell for his truth!" she has emphasized.
