Man wounded in Azerbaijan by mine explosion

In Nargiz-tepe, Khodzhavend District, Ali Mirzaev, a resident of the Neftchalin District, blew himself on a land mine, as reported on September 4 by the press service of the local MIA.

A similar incident happened in Azerbaijan on December 1, 2009, when Vusal Gashimov, resident of Garabaglylar village, Saatlin District of Azerbaijan, occasionally triggered an anti-tank mine, when working on a tractor in Mardzhili village, Agdam District. The tractor operator received bodily injuries.

The incident with Ali Mirzaev also happened during ploughing, when a mine got under the wheels of his tractor, the "Day.az" reports.

The victim was hospitalized, and doctors estimate his health condition as satisfactory, the "Trend" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since 2005-2006 the comprehensive schools of Azerbaijan, located near the borders with Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, started teaching lessons of mine safety.
