University student disappears in Ingushetia

On August 25, 2010, at about 3:00 p.m., in the city of Karabulak, Republic of Ingushetia, Magomed Kureishovich Aushev, born in 1988, left his home and never returned. As reported by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", his whereabouts are still unknown.

Magomed is a 4th year correspondence student of the law department of the Ingush State University; and he works there as a laboratory assistant.

According to Magomed's relatives, he was to meet a female relative and talk to her about his employment during his vacations. Worried about his long absence, his relatives called him to mobile phone, but it was switched off.

On August 26, his mother - Lydia Ausheva - brought her written application to the HRC "Memorial" in Nazran. As of August 31, Magomed Aushev's whereabouts were not established.

According to human rights activists, the following disappearances also took place: on July 24 - of Sultan Gazdiev, a resident of Karabulak, born in 1990; on July 26 - Magomed Aushev, a resident of Ali-Yurt village, born in 1976 (after a while his body was found in the suburb of Plievo village); and on July 29 - Ibragim Mutsolgov, a resident of Surkhakhi village, born in 1986, left his home and never returned.
